Retribution: US remake starring Liam Neeson, remaking the 2015 Spanish action film “El Desconocido. “

Plot and background

When investment banker Matt (Liam Neeson) gets in the car that morning with his kids Zach (Jack Champion) and Emily (Lilly Aspell), the day was still fine. But a short time later, the tide turns. An unknown number calls Matt on his cell phone, telling him that a bomb has been planted in the car and that no one is allowed to leave the car – otherwise the bomb will explode immediately.

Matt is seized by panic. At the wheel, he has to make quick decision after quick decision. Why is the unknown man targeting his family? Could he be serious? He argued with mother and wife Heather (Embeth Davidtz) about the day’s schedule just that morning, and now her nerves are on edge, too. Matt drives through the streets of Berlin undeterred, hoping for a solution. But time is playing against him and his family.
