A new trailer for The Irrational reveals the upcoming NBC procedural drama led by actor Jesse L. Martin, who returns to the network after his long run as NYPD Detective Ed Green on Law & Order.
“The Irrational is based on Dan Ariely’s bestselling novel Predictably Irrational,” per the synopsis. “It follows world-renowned professor of behavioral science Alec Mercer (Martin) as he lends his unique expertise on an array of high-stakes cases involving governments, law enforcement and corporations. His insight and unconventional approach to understanding human behavior lead him and the team on a series of intense, unexpected journeys to solve illogical puzzles and perplexing mysteries.”

What Is the Irrational’s NBC Release Date?
The Irrational will debut on September 25. The premiere and subsequent episodes will air on Mondays at 10 p.m. ET on NBC and will be available to stream the next day on Peacock.

Along with Martin, who more recently played Joe West on The Flash, the cast includes Maahra Hill, Travina Springer, Molly Kunz, and Arash DeMaxi.
The series is written by Arika Lisanne Mittman, who also executive produces with Mark Goffman and Samuel Baum. Ariely serves as a consultant. David Frankel directs and also serves as executive producer. Martin produced the pilot, and the series hails from Universal Television.
