The “League Of Legends” series “Arcane” took the hearts of many video game fans and Netflix subscribers by storm at the end of 2021. But when will season 2 finally continue? There is now a sobering answer to this question.
With a whopping 100 percent positive reviews on the review aggregation site Rotten Tomatoes, the animated series “Arcane” is one of the best-rated Netflix series there, even beating out the celebrated “The Last Of Us” (Rotten Tomatoes score: 96 percent) as the best video game adaptation. For us, too, the production following the gaming phenomenon “League Of Legends” was one of the absolute top series of 2021 – and definitely also one of the biggest surprises of the year.
It was hardly foreseeable beforehand that “Arcane” would captivate even many viewers who have nothing to do with the famous original. But the wonderful animations, multi-layered characters and the gripping as well as emotional plot gave us an absolute series highlight, whether with or without prior knowledge of the franchise.
A second season was therefore quickly decided in view of the celebrated success. But where is the sequel actually? There was finally an update on this – which should not make fans of the series particularly happy…
“ARCANE” SEASON 2 NOT UNTIL THE END OF 2024
The first season of “Arcane” is now almost two years ago. And the wait will probably take no end so soon, but unfortunately we have to wait at least another year, until the story is continued. As was revealed at a video conference, the second “Arcane” season will start in the fourth quarter (i.e. in the period between October and December) 2024 on Netflix.

This means the new episodes will find their way to the streaming service a beaten three years after the inaugural season. That’s a hell of a long wait even by Netflix standards – and especially for an animated series – especially when a first season left you wanting more.
