“The Expendables 4” – background, cast, theatrical release
After nearly a decade of waiting, action fans can finally look forward to a hard-hitting fourth installment in the film series following “The Expendables 3,” which hit theaters in 2014. “Need For Speed” director Scott Waugh filmed the last chapter of The Expendables, which will be released in cinemas here on September 21, 2023. After the third part of the series for many fans did not come close to the usual and popular hardness of its predecessors, in the uncut version of “The Expendables 4” should not mince words. With heavy artillery and brutal scenes, the fourth part returns to the “Expendables” roots – the film opens in cinemas here with an FSK rating of 18 years.
“Rambo” star and action veteran Sylvester Stallone is of course back in the game as Barney Ross. There is also a reunion with Jason Statham (“Operation Fortune”) as Lee Christmas, Dolph Lundgren (“Creed II: Rocky’s Legacy”) as Gunnar Jensen and Randy Couture as Toll Road. Completing the cast are several new celebrity faces, including Curtis James Jackson aka 50 Cent (“Criminal Squad”), Megan Fox (“Rogue”), Andy Garcia (“Cash Truck”) and martial arts stars Tony Jaa (“Monster Hunter”) and Iko Uwais (“The Raid”).
