Les choses simples: French comedy about a meeting of two fundamentally different men in the mountains which upsets their respective beliefs.
Plot and background
Vincent Delcourt (Lambert Wilson) is a successful tech champion with a packed schedule of meetings and conferences. Pierre (Grégory Gadebois) lives a self-sufficient life in seclusion on a farm against a dreamy mountain backdrop. They could hardly be more different, but a car breakdown of Vincent’s chic convertible in the middle of a country road brings the disparate men together. The taciturn loner Pierre rescues Vincent from the mountains on his motorbike and reluctantly accommodates the talkative city slicker for the next few hours. Vincent, who is enjoying real country air for the first time, suddenly finds himself forced to slow down, quickly asking himself an unpleasant, long-repressed question: Is he actually happy? With Pierre as the personified harmony with nature before his eyes, Vincent suffers panic attacks and finally realises that he needs a break from the high-performance life. And where better to spend it than with his grumpy host Pierre?
