Plot and background
Mack Mallard (Elyas M’Barek) is just a normal duck dad who is always bobbing around in the same pond with his family. But while Mack is perfectly content with that, mother Pam feels trapped in the daily grind and feels the urge to try something new. When a group of migratory ducks makes a stopover on Mallard Pond, Pam, teenage son Dax and duckling Gwen listen to the exciting tales about the wide world and their wanderlust increases. Eventually, Pam manages to persuade Mack to take the family on a trip to tropical Jamaica with the hilarious Uncle Dan. But on the way it soon becomes clear that the inexperienced holidaymakers will have to face some adventures and they will have new experiences they never dreamed of. The pond dwellers expand their small horizons far beyond their own pond when they meet new friends on their way south and accomplish great things together.

In the new animated hit “Raus aus dem Teich” from the makers of “Minions”, a duck family embarks on the journey of a lifetime. The German dubbing features Elyas M’Barek (“The Perfect Secret”) as duck dad Mack, among others.
The screenplay was penned by Emmy award winner and “The White Lotus” creator Mike White, while Oscar-nominated filmmaker Benjamin Renner (“Ernest & Célestine”) took a seat in the director’s chair. The humorous animated film for the whole family is about overcoming one’s own fears and letting in the big wide world, which holds not only dangers but also wonderful experiences and opportunities.
The colourful animated adventure with a cheerful soundtrack opens in cinemas in Germany at Christmas time on 21 December 2023.
