What to expect in Wingwomen?
“Tired of life on the run, two expert thieves and best friends, Carole and Alex recruit a young feisty car racer named Sam to assist them with one last job — unlike any they’ve done before,” reads the synopsis.
Wingwomen is directed by Mélanie Laurent (Inglourious Basterds) from a screenplay written by Cédric Anger and Christophe Deslandes, based on Jérôme Mulot, Florent Ruppert, and Bastien Vives’ comic book titled The Grand Odalisque. Joining the César-winning actress are Adèle Exarchopoulos (Blue Is The Warmest Color), Manon Bresch (Mortell), Isabelle Adjani (Possession), Félix Moati (Father and Son), Philippe Katerine (Sink or Swim), Lucie Laffin (Cannes Confidential), and Leona D’Huy (The Gray Man).
This marks Laurent’s latest collaboration with Netflix after previously starring in Ryan Reynolds’ action thriller 6 Underground and Adam Sandler’s Murder Mystery 2. Before Wingwomen, Laurent made her feature-length directorial debut with 2011’s The Adopted. Her other notable directing credits include 2014’s Breathe, 2015’s Tomorrow, and 2021’s The Mad Women’s Ball.
