Time for a penultimate round with “Big Mouth” and “Élite”. Both series start today on Netflix in their seventh season – and the signs are goodbye, because after Season 8 is the end for both productions
Today is a good day for series fans, because with “Big Mouth” and “Élite” new seasons of two big and extremely popular Netflix productions start on the streaming service with the red “N”. And although they are both coming-of-age series at heart, they couldn’t be more different. While the animated series “Big Mouth” focuses on crude humor, “Élite” is hot and passionate.
Incidentally, both series are now entering their seventh (!) and penultimate season – because the end of the productions has already been decided. However, both “Big Mouth” and “Elite” will be given a final season, in which hopefully the last loose plot threads can be brought to a satisfying end for the fans.
EVEN HORMONE MONSTERS HAVE TO GROW UP
Fans of filthy humor should get their money’s worth with the new season of the animated series “Big Mouth”. And even if the series relies heavily on gross-out jokes in places and sometimes breaks all boundaries of shame, the teens with their wild hormone monsters have their hearts in the right place.
The animated hit, which is based on the childhood memories of friends and comedians Nick Kroll and Andrew Goldberg, is currently in its seventh season – an astonishingly long lifespan for a Netflix production. It seems only logical that the series will be brought to an end with its eighth season – after all, even hormone monsters have to grow up at some point.
THE EMOTIONAL CHAOS CONTINUES
On the other hand, things get much more dramatic on “Élite.” In the new season, it’s back to Las Encinas. At the bilingual school, Omar (Omar Ayuso) wants to complete an internship. The past at the elite school just won’t let him rest after Samuel’s death, so he hopes his return will give him a chance to come to terms with the traumatic events.
But once again, old and new acquaintances are waiting for him, all of whom have their own problems to deal with, and Omar is left with little time for himself at first. Is there perhaps more to Ivan’s (André Lamoglia) accident than first appeared and what is the problem of the new student Chloe (Mirela Balic)? She is becoming increasingly entangled in scandalous lies.
So fans of the series can once again look forward to plenty of fresh gossip, naked skin, hot drama and boiling emotions in the seventh round of “Élite” – exactly what has made the Spanish hit production a success.
