Surprising news has reached us about a series on Disney+ that actually ended 6 years ago (for the second time). Now the thriller obsession is returning once again
In the 2000s, Prison Break had numerous fans feverishly tuning in each week to find out if genius Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller) would successfully break out his wrongfully imprisoned brother Linc (Dominic Purcell) from the inside. Now the thriller series, which airs on Disney+ in Germany, is to be given a new lease of life with a slightly different concept.
On Disney+, Prison Break could soon crack 100 episodes after all
Prison Break was one of the series that enjoyed enormous popularity in the 2000s. 4 seasons with 79 episodes were broadcast between 2005 and 2009. But after the grand finale, it didn’t end unexpectedly: eight years later, the Fox channel gave the breakout format a fifth season with 9 episodes in 2017.You can stream all 90 episodes on Disney+*. This number could rise to over 100 in the future, as Prison Break is apparently being revived again.

AsTHRreported, the channel Hulu, whose movies and series stream on Disney+ in Germany, is working on anew series version of Prison Break set in the same world This means we would no longer be following the old main characters, but new ones. But that doesn’t rule out a reunion with familiar prison staff or inmates
The showrunner for the series revival of Prison Break will be Elgin James, who already led the spin-off of Sons of Anarchy to success with Mayans MC. He will write the script for the Prison Break return and will also be supported as executive producer by Prison Break creator Paul Scheuring.
When is Prison Break coming back to Disney+ as a series?
It is not yet known whether the Prison Break return will be released as a 6th season. A stand-alone spin-off series is more likely. Likewise, we can only speculate about the start date of the new prison outing, as the idea is still in its infancy. The new series breakout at Disney+ is certainly not expected before 2025
