Netflix has released the first trailer for the action-packed fantasy series Yu Yu Hakusho, which will be launched before the end of the year. Will it be the next good anime adaptation after One Piece?

In a few weeks, Netflix can prove thatOne Piecewas not a one-off stroke of luck. Because withYu Yu Hakushothe next live-action adaptation of a popular manga and anime will be launched in December. As part of Geekd Week, Netflix has now released a first look at the fantasy series full of ghosts, demons and spectacular fighting action.

What is Yu Yu Hakusho anyway?After One Piece, Netflix is venturing into the next big manga adaptation, but this time with an all-Japanese cast. It is based on the popular manga by Yoshihiro Togashi (Hunter x Hunter), which was adapted as a 112-part anime seriesYû Yû Hakushoin the early 1990s.

The story centers on the teenage rebel Yusuke Urameshi (Takumi Kitamura), who saves a child from a speeding car and dies in the process. As no one in the spirit world expected his heroic deed, there is no place for him in heaven or hell. Instead, he is given a once-in-a-lifetime chance by Ghost Prince Koenma, a talking baby with a pacifier.

When will Yu Yu Hakusho start on Netflix?

Yu Yu Hakusho will launch on Netflixon December 14, 2023 It is not yet known how many episodes the first season will comprise.
