That’s the promise of the first trailer for Garfield – An Extra Portion of Adventure, which brings the wolverine back to the movies 18 years after Garfield 2 – Laziness obliges! Many Marvel fans will immediately recognize the new voice

Garfield returns: Marvel hero lends his voice to cult cat
The new Garfield film sheds light on the giant orange cat’s domestic beginnings, among other things. Garfield swaps the cold and rain for an endless supply of pizza, thanks to the mercy of his master. However, when his biological father Vic (Samuel L. Jackson) comes back into his life years later, the laziness comes to an end.
Jackson is not the only Marvel star that English-speaking and German fans will recognize in the trailer. Garfield himself is originally voiced by Chris Pratt (Guardians of the Galaxy). The German voice is provided by Pratt’s voice actor Leonhard Mahlich, who has already represented the Marvel star in animated films such as Super Mario and Onward.
When will Garfield – An Extra Portion of Adventure be released in cinemas?
The new Garfield film is scheduled for release on May 23, 2023. In addition to Jackson and Pratt, the original will also feature the voices of stars such as Ving Rhames (Pulp Fiction) and Nicholas Hoult (The Menu).
