Disney+’s new Percy Jackson series now has another trailer introducing the fantasy adventure full of gods and monsters to recover a stolen lightning bolt.
The big-budget fantasy adaptation Percy Jackson: The Series is coming to Disney+ next month*. The book adaptation brings Greek mythology full of monsters and gods into the modern age to unleash a magical adventure as a Harry Potter rival. After a first short teaser and a second longer teaser, the first real trailer is now available with new insights.

The first season of the Disney+ series adapts volume 1 of Rick Riordan’s popular young adult fantasy series: Percy Jackson: Thieves in Olympus*. In it, 12-year-old Percy Jackson (Walker Scobell) learns that he is no ordinary schoolboy, but a demigod. At Camp Halfblood, he is to learn to master his dormant abilities. However, together with the satyr Grover (Aryan Simhadri) and fellow pupil Annabeth (Leah Jeffries), he soon has to face an even greater challenge. Zeus’ ruling lightning bolt has been stolen and the trio are trying to find it again to prevent a war between the Olympian gods.

After the movies Percy Jackson – Thieves on Olympus and Percy Jackson 2: Under the Spell of the Cyclops failed to bring the 5-volume main series * of the fantasy saga to a close, the series remake on Disney+ now has the chance to do so. The trailer already shows that the new edition will not be stingy with action and effects and has its sights set on further seasons. Meanwhile, the horned minotaur seems to have picked up a few dog genes and the tiger lizard (a manticore, dracon or a chimera?) has hot breath.
In addition to the young stars around Percy Jackson actor Walker Scobell (The Adam Project), the divine cast of the fantasy series also includes the late Lance Reddick as Zeus, Toby Stephens as Poseidon, Glynn Turman as Chiron, Lin-Manuel Miranda as Hermes and Jay Duplass as Hades.

Fantasy for Christmas: When does the Percy Jackson series start on Disney+?
The start of the Percy Jackson series on Disney+ is December 20, 2023. The first two episodes will be released together on this date. The remaining 8 episodes will then be released weekly on Wednesdays. The last episode of season 1 will be released on January 31, 2024
