Outlander season 7 is not over yet. When will episode 9 continue? What can Jamie and Claire expect next? We have summarized the most important information
Droughtlander is a term that fans of the time travel series Outlander know all too well. This term has become established for the unbearably long waiting times between the individual seasons. After the first eight episodes of season 7, which you can buy on Amazon* and elsewhere, another Droughtlander is now imminent.
Outlander season 7 is far from over after the eighth episode. However, we have to wait quite a while for the start of episode 9. Find out here when part 2 continues and what happens next for Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire (Caitriona Balfe) and their family in the second half of the season
Outlander season 7: When will part 2 and episode 9 continue?
The 7th season of Outlander comprises a total of 16 episodes, which will be released in two blocks. However, the last eight episodes will not premiere as part 2 until 2024. An exact start date has not yet been announced. The new episodes will be released in Germany again as a purchase VOD on Amazon and other services and are included in the season pass for season 7.
Fortunately, Outlander season 7 is not affected by the Hollywood strikes by the actors’ and screenwriters’ unions, which paralyzed numerous film and series shoots from May to November. Production of all episodes was completed before the strike in February 2023.

But Outlander won’t be over for a long time with season 7 part 2. The time travel series is getting an 8th season, which will bring the story of the Fraser clan to a close in 10 episodes. In addition, Outlander: Blood of My Blood will be a prequel series that sheds light on the back story of Jamie’s parents.
However, both the series finale and the prequel will take longer than planned due to the Hollywood strike that has already ended.
Time travel abduction and return to Scotland: this is what happens in Outlander season 7 part 2
Warning, spoilers: At the end of the first half of the season, the two most important storylines of the next episodes are already started. Jamie, Claire and Ian (John Bell) escape the war in America and travel back to Scotland. For the first time since season 3, the Frasers return home to Lallybroch. There they are reunited with Jenny Murray, who is no longer played by Laura Donnelly but by Kristin Atherton.

The most exciting story, however, deals with the younger generation of Frasers. Brianna’s (Sophie Skelton) and Roger’s (Richard Rankin) son Jemmy has been kidnapped by Rob Cameron (Chris Fulton), who is searching for the lost gold. Roger and his ancestor Buck MacKenzie (Diarmaid Murtagh) embark on a rescue mission and have already traveled back in time through the stones of Craigh na Dun in episode 8.
In part 2, a kidnapping case on several time levels awaits us. In the original book, Roger and Buck land in the year 1739, four years before Claire’s first arrival in the past. They meet some familiar characters as well as Jamie’s father, Brian Fraser, and other time travelers. Unfortunately, there is no trace of Rob Cameron. He has not traveled through time and is now bullying Brianna in 20th century Scotland.
