There’s a superhero highlight with Henry Cavill to stream on Netflix. Fans waited years for a sequel, only to be bitterly disappointed in the end
Henry Cavill has played many great roles in his career. DC fans, however, remember him as Superman, who made his best appearance in the action highlight Man of Steel. The blockbuster is available on Netflix.
On Netflix: Henry Cavill’s Superman career started great and ended in disaster
Man of Steel revisits the story of Superman (Cavill). Placed in an escape pod by his biological parents on the planet Krypton, the interplanetary fugitive grows up with his surrogate parents Martha (Diane Lane) and Jonathan (Kevin Costner) in the US state of Kansas. But when the sinister General Zod (Michael Shannon) tries to subjugate the Earth, the Man of Steel’s past catches up with him.
Man of Steel was a success at the box office (via The Numbers ) and is considered by many Cavill fans to be one of his best films. For a long time, they hoped for a sequel that would focus solely on the DC superhero again after his appearances in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League.
But Henry Cavill’s Superman career ended in a DC disaster. First he returned in the post-credit scene of Black Adam with kettledrums and trumpets, only to be officially dumped by DC shortly afterwards. Fans have no choice but to focus on his three Superman appearances to date instead.
