“A martial arts action film on an international level” is what German director Oliver Kienle wanted to make with 60 Minutes. The action thriller is coming directly to Netflix at the beginning of next year. Its biggest star is Emilio Sakraya. 60 Minutes is the actor’s second Netflix project. He had no luck with the ambitious but half-baked sci-fi story Tribes of Europa in 2021; the series was quietly canceled after one season.

Mixed martial arts fighter Octavio (Emilio Sakraya) has just one hour – 60 minutes – to make it to his daughter’s birthday party. If he doesn’t make it, he could lose his custody forever. So he skips a big fight – much to the displeasure of some shady characters who are after him from now on and hamper his chances of arriving on time.
Another leading role is played by actress and stuntwoman Marie Mouroum as Cosima. She and Sakraya “have many years of experience in martial arts and were on fire for weeks to months of training,” says Oliver Kienle.
