Zack Snyder would like to make a dark Dark Knight comic into a movie
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the director says that only a DC movie would lure him back to the studio if James Gunn and Peter Safran take the creative helm in the future. This is an adaptation of the four-part comic series Batman – The Dark Knight Returns aka The Dark Knight Returns by Frank Miller.

In the story of these volumes, Bruce Wayne is now 55 years old and has retired from his Batman role in the public eye. When the evil in Gotham City becomes too strong again, he returns with full brutality. It’s no secret that Snyder was already inspired by Miller’s comic book template for his version of the Dark Knight in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice with Ben Affleck in the role.
When is Zack Snyder’s new blockbuster coming?
Next up for Netflix is the director’s two-part sci-fi project Rebel Moon Part 1: Child of Fire. Part 1 will be released on December 22, 2023, while the sequel will be released on the streaming service on April 19, 2024.
