Amazon Prime has added a forgotten action thriller starring Liam Neeson to its program. The thriller about a master thief went completely under in the cinema through no fault of its own
Wonder if Liam Neeson knew where his career would take him when he stood on the set of Steven Spielberg’s Schindler’s List over 30 years ago? In the meantime, the Oscar-nominated character actor has become a real action hero. With Honest Thief, Amazon Prime has now added one of his latest adventures to its streaming program.
On Amazon Prime: Action thriller with Liam Neeson outwitting corrupt cops
Honest Thief revolves around ex-marine and bank robber Tom Dolan (Neeson), who wants to turn himself in to the police and lead a quiet life after a long career as a criminal. However, he comes up against two corrupt policemen who only want to enrich themselves with his hidden loot.

Honest Thief is not a masterpiece according to many critics (via Metacritic ), but will satisfy most fans of Neeson’s action roles. Nevertheless, hardly anyone remembers the film today, for one simple reason: its release had to be postponed several times due to the coronavirus pandemic.
When it was finally released in the USA in October 2020, cinemas were still a long way from recovering from the effects of the safety measures. In many countries, it was only released on Blu-ray. Its box office result was correspondingly sobering in the end. On a budget of 30 million US dollars, it only made 32 million US dollars (via The Numbers ).
