We’ve been waiting three years for the first moving images from Amazon’s Fallout movie adaptation. Now the teaser trailer for the highly anticipated sci-fi series is finally here.
The demand for video game adaptations is high in Hollywood these days. Both in the cinema (The Super Mario Bros. film) and on television (The Last of Us), the cinematic adaptation of popular games has recently enjoyed considerable success. Now Amazon Prime Video is following suit with a highly anticipated major project.
Since 2020, the streaming service has been working on a Fallout series based on the video game series of the same name from Bethesda. After the first images from the Fallout series were released a few days ago, there is now an exciting trailer that catapults us into the apocalyptic world from the games
Sci-fi highlight on Amazon Prime: First trailer for the Fallout series from the makers of Westworld
The story of Fallout takes us into the 22nd century and shows us a world that has been destroyed by nuclear war. Although we are far in the future, the aesthetics are reminiscent of the 40s and 50s. The retro elements give the series its unmistakable look as we traverse the end-time wasteland.
Fallout is led by Ella Purnell, who takes on the role of young Lucy. Lucy grew up in the nuclear bunker Vault 33, which is run by her father Hank (Kyle MacLachlan), and embarks on a dangerous mission. Opposite her is the sinister villain The Ghoul (Walton Goggins).
Why should we look forward to the Fallout series? Not only are we dealing with a very elaborate sci-fi project from Amazon Prime. Behind the series are Lisa Joy and Jonathan Nolan, who have already created two brilliant sci-fi series: Westworld and Periphery. They are known for convoluted storytelling with lots of twists.
