An extremely entertaining adventure film is now available on Netflix. Daniel Radcliffe plays an eccentric billionaire who is obsessed with the search for treasure

When Harry Potter drowns, Daniel Radcliffe throws him a dumbbell. At least, that’s how it seems in some of the actor’s roles, in which he obviously wanted to distance himself as far as possible from the fantasy franchise in terms of tone. After bizarre appearances in Horns or Swiss Army Man, he played an obsessed billionaire in The Lost City in 2022, who forces Sandra Bullock to go on an extremely entertaining treasure hunt. Netflix recently added him to its line-up

On Netflix: Daniel Radcliffe wants to turn Sandra Bullock into Indiana Jones

The Lost City revolves around bestselling author Loretta Sage (Bullock), whose adventure novels are based on the archaeological work of her late husband. When the eccentric billionaire Fairbanks (Radcliffe) finds out about this, he has her kidnapped without further ado to search for treasure on a desert island. Model Alan (Channing Tatum), who lends his face to Loretta’s male hero, then launches a rescue operation

Adventure films are not exactly the hottest new trend among movie genres. Well-known examples such as Raiders of the Lost Ark or The Hunt for the Green Diamond are now a good 40 years old. The Lost City, which trades rough brawls for chemistry between Bullock and Tatum, nevertheless managed to win over many critics, as Metacritic shows. It went on to become a box-office success and, according to The Numbers, grossed 192 million dollars.

In addition to the actors mentioned above, there are various other stars in front of the camera. The cast includes Brad Pitt and Oscar Nuñez (The Office), among others.
