The sci-fi fantasy series Arcane returns soon with season 2 on Netflix. Now there’s a new teaser that unleashes a dark creature from the original.
The animated series Arcane, based on the video game League of Legends, is one of the most popular Netflix series ever. The mix of steampunk science fiction and fantasy landed at number 1 in the top-rated series of 2021 and, with a rating of 8.4 on Moviepilot, even trumps Netflix high-flyers such as Stranger Things and House of Cards.
After an almost unbearably long wait of four years, Arcane is finally returning this year with new episodes. Although there are still a few months to go until the start, Netflix has now released a first teaser trailer for season 2, which reveals a gruesome monster
Arcane reveals the monster Warwick in the season 2 teaser
At first glance, the first look teaser doesn’t reveal too much about the plot of season 2. We see scientist Singed, who is connected to a machine. Above him, however, we can see a huge monster that will look familiar to League of Legends fans: It’s the werewolf-like creature called Warwick.
You can watch the teaser for Arcane Season 2 here:
In the world of League of Legends, Warwick is a creature created through painful experimentation that roams the dark alleys of the Undercity of Zaun. As seen in the new Arcane trailer, parts of Warwick’s body are made of pumps and vessels filled with greenish (alchemical) liquid. Wrath literally flows through his veins.
Should Warwick play a central role in Arcane season 2, a tragic theory could also be confirmed. Not all fans are convinced that Vander, the adoptive father of the main characters Jinx and Vi, really died.
Some even speculate that the character nicknamed “Hound of the Underworld”, who was thought to be dead, was destined to turn into Warwick from the very beginning. For the sisters on opposite sides, however, the return of their father figure in monster form would certainly be a painful twist.
When will Arcane season 2 start on Netflix?
The new episodes of Arcane will be released on Netflix in November 2024, exactly four years after the start of the first season. So far, only the start month is known. In the meantime, however, you can look forward to lots of other exciting Netflix series starting in 2024.
