In Gerard Butler’s most successful film series, he plays a fantasy Viking. After a 5-year break, he now returns. However, the new installment brings with it a big change.
Gerard Butler’s most successful film series is not the 300 films or the bodyguard action of the Olympus Has Fallen franchise. In first place is the Dragon Taming Made Easy universe, which, according to The Numbers, has grossed over 1.6 billion dollars at the box office to date. A live-action adaptation of the animated fantasy series is currently in production. And Butler will be seen there in the flesh for the first time.
Gerard Butler can be seen for the first time as the fantasy viking Stoick himself
Since the first Taming of the Dragon film in 2010, Butler has lent his voice to the Viking king Haudrauf. Haudrauf the Stoic is the Viking ruler of his village Berk and father of Dragon Taming Made Easy hero Hiccup (US voice: Jay Baruchel). As Entertainment Weekly reports, Gerard Butler is also appearing in front of the camera in his role for the first time for the live-action film.
