The hotly anticipated sci-fi thriller Mickey 17 starring Robert Pattinson no longer has a release date. The twist has an annoying reason.
Robert Pattinson lost in space, and the whole thing directed by Oscar winner Bong Joon-ho (Parasite): This is what many sci-fi fans had been looking forward to with Mickey 17. Now it has simply lost its release date of March 28, 2024 and has been postponed indefinitely. But why?
Instead of sci-fi thrillers with Robert Pattinson, 2 mega monsters are coming to the cinema
As the Hollywood Reporter reports, the recently settled Hollywood double strike has led to Mickey 17 having to be postponed. Even after it ended, the previous walkouts are still causing complications in the dream factory’s scheduling process. The news is particularly frustrating for all those who thought they had already been freed from the doldrums of the strike period.
As a small ray of hope, disappointed sci-fi fans can at least look forward to another smash hit of the genre being released in cinemas sooner. According to the report, Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire will take over the US release date of Mickey 17 and be released on March 29, 2024
Watch the trailer for Godzilla x Kong here:
Mickey 17 revolves around an astronaut (Pattinson) who has to fulfill murderous tasks on an alien planet. If he dies, he is simply replaced by a clone
When is Mickey 17 coming to the movies?
When exactly Joon-ho Bong’s Mickey 17 will be released in cinemas is very difficult to predict at the moment. No trailer for the sci-fi film has yet been released. A new release date is expected to be announced soon.
