No spin-off to best zombie horror 2023: Creator dashes fan hope for The Last of Us

by Tommy

Recently, there was hope that the two characters from the most moving episode of The Last of Us could make a comeback. The showrunner of the series has now made this hope clear

The depressing zombie horror The Last of Us offered an emotional climax in season 1 in the form of the third episode, which told a self-contained story. The fate of the couple Bill (Nick Offerman) and Frank (Murray Bartlett) touched everyone’s heart and recently earned Offerman an Emmy award.

The Bill actor recently spoke of plans for his own Bill & Frank spin-off for The Last of Us. Now the creator of the series has also commented on this and dealt the fan hope a bitter setback

The Last of Us spin-off with Bill and Frank is not coming

According to Deadline The Last of Us showrunner Craig Mazin said clearly:

I’m very proud of the episode we did with Bill and Frank. There will be no more Bill and Frank.
A clear statement that directly buries the prospect of a spin-off with the two fan favorites. Offerman himself spoke about plans for a series with Bill and Frank:

[The idea] has already been pitched. We pitched a whole prequel miniseries about [Bill and Frank’s] life before they met. It could be a musical [kidding]. There’s no shortage of ideas. We’ll see what [producers] Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann come up with.

Apparently Mazin and Druckmann haven’t given much thought to a spin-off of the zombie horror hit
