Game of Thrones creators wanted a certain season 1 character to appear again
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the duo revealed that they would have loved to bring back the dungeon master Mord from the first season. Played by Ciaran Bermingham, the bizarre character is responsible for overseeing the prison of Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage), who in turn wants to bribe his guard for his freedom.

There’s a scene in a tavern…. Was it with Brienne or The Hound? But we realized too late that Mord could have owned the tavern. We could have had that actor in the background just like he did as a prison guard, except now as a small business owner. It was just such an obvious, self-evident idea.
