Sci-fi thriller with Gerard Butler continues: Filming on Greenland 2 begins in April
Greenland 2, which has the additional title Migration, has been in planning for quite some time. In June 2021, there were initial reports that the sequel was in development. After that, however, the project went surprisingly quiet. Now Deadline reports that filming is about to start. The first clapperboard will be dropped in April

Greenland 2 is being filmed in the UK and brings back the three main stars of the original. In front of the camera, they include Gerard Butler and co-star Morena Baccarin (Deadpool), who plays his wife in the film. Behind the camera, action specialist Ric Roman Waugh is back in the director’s chair.
Waugh and Butler are a well-rehearsed team. In addition to Greenland, they recently brought the action thriller Kandahar to the cinema. Before that, they worked together on Angel Has Fallen, the third part of the Has Fallen series. Another reunion awaits us here soon. Waugh is also set to direct Night Has Fallen.
The screenplay for Greenland 2 was written by Chris Sparling and Mitchell LaFortune. It tells the next step in the story: Following the impact of the comet, the Garrity family leaves the Greenland bunker and sets off in search of a new home. But Europe lies in ruins
