One of the best science fiction films that the streaming service has produced in recent years starts today on Netflix. Adam Sandler plays the lead role of a lonely astronaut.
Just a few days ago, Spaceman: A Brief History of Bohemian Space Travel celebrated its premiere at the Berlinale. You can already stream the sci-fi film on Netflix. The story is based on the book of the same name by Jaroslav Kalfař. Adam Sandler plays the lead role in the adaptation.

Sandler, who is best known for his comedies, shows his serious side in Spaceman. If you liked the actor in films such as Punch-Drunk Love, The Black Diamond and Hustle, then you should definitely take a look at Spaceman. Rarely has Sandler been seen in such a vulnerable role.

New sci-fi film on Netflix: Adam Sandler meets a giant space spider in Spaceman

The story of Spaceman revolves around astronaut Jakub (Sandler), who has been on a mission in space for 189 days. A mysterious cloud is worrying people on Earth. Jakub has to find out what it is all about and leaves his pregnant wife Lenka (Carey Mulligan) behind on Earth

Here you can watch the trailer for Spaceman:

It quickly becomes clear: Jakub is completely lost in the infinite vastness of space. Loneliness gnaws at him. He moves through the darkness as an emotional wreck. Just at that moment, he encounters an alien that looks like a giant spider: Hanuš (Paul Dano) gives the sad astronaut a big fright.

But Hanuš is up to no good. On the contrary: he cares about Jakub and provides him with emotional support. But is the alien creature real? Or is it merely a product of Jakub’s imagination? He may have lost his mind for good. At the same time, Hanuš speaks many truths that he doesn’t want to face.
