A German house of money?
In Crooks, former safecracker Charlie (Frederick Lau) from Berlin has long since retired from crooked business when his criminal past catches up with him. In order to protect his family, he has to rob a valuable coin with Viennese clan driver Joseph (Christoph F. Krutzler). But the job goes anything but smoothly and a dangerous road trip across Europe begins for the thieving duo. While Charlie and Joseph make their way from Berlin via Vienna to Marseille, an Austrian red light king, the Corsican mafia, a Russian gangster boss and other scoundrels from the German capital are soon hot on their heels… Will the involuntary accomplices get out of the sting in one piece?

When it comes to Netflix heist dramas, the first thing that pops into your head is, of course, the Spanish in-house production House of Money. It ran so successfully between 2017 and 2021 that it has already been followed by an Asian spin-off called House of Money: Korea and a character-based spin-off called Berlin.

In addition to showrunner Kren, the two co-creators Benjamin Hessler and Georg Lippert are responsible for the production of W&B Television. Other roles include 4 Blocks star Khodr Ramadan, Svenja Jung (Die Kaiserin), Georg Friedrich (Freud) and the late Karl Welunschek.
