The new Netflix adaptation of Avatar: The Last Airbender has a lot of things that M. Night Shyamalan’s film didn’t have. Only one amusing detail, which caused uproarious laughter at the time, is missing from the series…
As much as there are various criticisms of the Netflix series Avatar: Lord of the Elements, few mourn the short-lived film series that didn’t become one. Most fans can agree that the film adaptation of The Legend of Aang by director M. Night Shyamalan was too detached from the cartoon (Avatar: The Lord of the Elements) and too much affected by whitewashing.
The audience still had fun with the film at the time, even if some of the below-the-belt amusement was due to an unintentionally funny detail that the filmmakers had (presumably) not thought up.
Three waters of taffeta: the Avatar hairstyle is in place
A detail so striking that screenshots landed on the net shortly after the film’s release and caused adolescent laughter. Ladies and gentlemen… this is the story of Princess Yue’s penile hair

There’s simply no way around it: Princess Yue of the Northern Water Tribe, played by Seychelle Gabriel, has a rather phallic-looking hairstyle in the notorious screenshot.
Have you read it yet? Aang ruins the Avatar series on Netflix: The hero of the fantasy epic turns out to be a pain in the ass every 5 minutes
Whether the hair and make-up department was joking here, like those people who used to incorporate little bits of kinkiness into Disney films (keyword: Ariel posters), or whether the cock coiffure came about quite organically, remains a mystery. However, no one could think of a way to defuse the whole thing a little with a digital hair clip for the home video version.

Avatar – The Lord of the Elements on Netflix
The Avatar live-action series with eight episodes has been available on Netflix since February 22, 2024 and tells the legend of Aang (Gordon Cormier) from the beginning with actors of flesh and blood. As always, it is about various tribes of an Asian-inspired fantasy world who are powerful in water, air, wind and fire bending, and the one Avatar who masters all disciplines.
It is not yet known whether the lavishly produced format from series creator Albert Kim will receive a second season.
