Huge sci-fi series was about to end: After 2 years, the finale of Snowpiercer is now saved after all

The 4th and final season of the sci-fi series Snowpiecer has been on hold for some time. That will change in early 2025 when AMC shows the apocalyptic final chapter

There’s really only one thing left to understand: The 4th and final season of the post-apocalyptic sci-fi series Snowpiercer had long been finished when Warner Bros. Discovery canceled the entire final chapter because a write-off seemed more financially profitable than airing the season on TNT. Batgirls can relate.

After more than a year of radio silence, the US cable channel AMC has now emerged as the savior of the end-time train ride. According to Variety, the first three seasons will be released as a stream via AMC+ in 2024, before the premiere of the final season is scheduled for early 2025.

Snowpiecer: All aboard for the sci-fi final season

Showrunner Paul Zbyszewski was naturally beside himself with joy, saying in the series rescue statement:

We are thrilled that the train has finally found a home and are incredibly grateful to everyone at AMC and Tomorrow Studios for giving fans of Snowpiercer a chance to enjoy Season 4 with all the hard work this amazing cast and crew have put in.
The Snowpiercer series is the second adaptation of the French comic Le Transperceneige aka Snowcruiser after the movie version by Parasite director Bong Joon-ho. As in every version, it is about an enormously long train with a mysterious perpetual-motion drive that travels through the desolate ice desert that remains of the earth after the end of the world

A strict class hierarchy prevails on board, depending on wagon placement, which awakens revolutionary ambitions in the less well-placed wagons at the back. Jennifer Connelly’s Melanie Cavill is one of the rulers, representing the train’s inventor Mr. Wilford (Sean Bean), while ex-detective Andre Layton, played by Daveed Diggs, is the leader of the rear train region
