The second half of Outlander season 7 will not start until the end of the year. After that, there will only be one season left, but don’t worry: a follow-up format is already in place
The US broadcaster Starz has announced the second half of Outlander season 7 for November 7, 2024. Fans were probably expecting a return of the romantic time travel series, but at least they still have something of Claire (Caitriona Balfe) and Jamie (Sam Heughan) over the holidays.
Outlander: What’s next in season 7
According to TVLine, showrunner Matthew B. Roberts said that several fan favorites will be encountered in different times and places in the eight-part remainder of the seventh season. These include Graham McTavish as Dougal MacKenzie as well as Nell Hudson as Laoghaire Fraser, Steven Cree as Ian Murray, Lotte Verbeek as Geillis Duncan, Andrew Whipp as Brian Fraser and Layla Burns as Joan MacKimmmie.
In terms of time, the characters are still in the middle of the American War of Independence, which took place from 1775 to 1783. Parts of books six to eight from the series of novels by author Diana Gabaldon will be adapted for season 7. However, the seventh volume, Echo of Hope, is the primary source.

And after that? Has it already changed?
Outlander is already assured of an 8th and final season with ten concluding episodes. But that’s not all: a spin-off has also already been commissioned.
This is Outlander: Blood of My Blood, a prequel series about the respective love stories of Claire and Jamie’s parents. Her parents (played by Hermione Corfield and Jeremy Irvine) meet in England during the First World War, while his parents (Jamie Roy and Harriet Slater) find each other in the Scottish Highlands of the 18th century.
