The Fantastic Four opens in German cinemas on July 24, 2025. It is the 37th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the first time that the entire F4 family has appeared there. Back in 2022, John Krasinski played a variant of Mr. Fantastic in the multiverse adventure Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Who plays the Silver Surfer in The Fantastic Four?
The first major villain for The Fantastic Four has already been revealed: In the new Marvel film, we meet a female version of the Silver Surfer called Shalla-Bal. She will be played by Julia Garner, who is known for Ozark and The Assistant. The Silver Surfer appears in the comics as the harbinger of Galactus, which is why many fans speculate that he will also be part of The Fantastic Four.

What is the plot of The Fantastic Four?
The first cast picture indicates that The Fantastic Four is set in the 1960s, specifically in 1963, as the issue of Life Magazine that Ben Grimm is holding in his hands suggests. It features a cover with US President Lyndon B. Johnson, which matches an actual Life issue from December 13, 1963

In addition, there are rumors (via Screen Rant ) that the plot of The Fantastic Four is set in an alternate universe. In other words: We are not in the familiar Marvel world of Iron Man and co. but somewhere completely different in the big Marvel multiverse. This is also indicated by information from the usually reliable scooper Daniel Richtman, who draws a comparison with Deadpool & Wolverine. However, this has not yet been confirmed
Deadpool & Wolverine is the first Marvel Studios film not to be set in the 616/19999 universe. The Fantastic Four will be the second one. I wonder if we’ll get one more before the Multiverse Saga ends.

When will the trailer for The Fantastic Four be released?
We’re still a long way from a trailer, as filming hasn’t even started yet. Accordingly, it will still be a few months before the first moving images from The Fantastic Four hit the internet.
