In the Netflix thriller Eric, Benedict Cumberbatch of Sherlock fame plays a father with a missing son whose monster creation suddenly starts talking to him. Here is the trailer.
Sherlock and Doctor Strange star Benedict Cumberbatch will soon be seen in his first series lead role since 2018’s Patrick Melrose … and he looks more fuzzy than ever.
We’re talking about the Netflix thriller series Eric, for which there is now a trailer that promises a bizarre psychological drama. It is a mini-series that will be completed after one season
What is the Netflix series Eric with Sherlock star Benedict Cumberbatch about?
Vincent (Cumberbatch) is a puppeteer in 1980s New York and the creator of a popular children’s show, a fictional Jim Henson. His life comes apart at the seams when his nine-year-old son Edgar (Ivan Morris Howe) disappears without a trace on his way to school. Vincent is increasingly desperate and convinces himself of a crazy logic: if he puts Edgar’s monster drawing called Eric on TV as a puppet, the child will come back because he realizes how much he is missed.
However, this goes so far that Eric appears to the puppeteer as a figment of his imagination and interacts with him. From the first trailer, it looks like a mixture of Kidding with Jim Carrey and Happy! with Christopher Meloni
