Among Hollywood insiders, Dwayne Johnson is rumored to be joining the Marvel universe as an X-Men villain. The Black Adam star could take on the role of Apocalypse
After years of the MCU largely ignoring the X-Men, these two poles are set to merge in a big way this year with Deadpool & Wolverine in cinemas. With the entry of the mutants into Disney’s Marvel universe, a wild rumor is now circulating in Hollywood that a well-known X-Men villain could soon appear on the scene. And it is said to be played by none other than Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.
Dwayne Johnson as X-Men villain Apocalypse soon in the MCU?
Scoop account MyTimeToShineH (via Comic Book Movie ) claims to have learned that Dwayne Johnson’s MCU debut as X-Men villain Apocalypse is under discussion. It is not a reputable source such as the Hollywood Reporter, Deadline or Variety.
It is also unclear in which film we will meet Johnson as Apocalypse. A standalone X-Men reboot or an upcoming Avengers film would be conceivable, in which more heroes and villains from the former Fox series could be introduced as variants after Deadpool & Wolverine.
