What’s the Reacher replacement Cross on Amazon about?
Aldis Hodge, known from the series City on a Hill or the superhero film Black Adam, plays the titular investigator Alex Cross this time. A more than capable detective from Washington, D.C. with forensic skills and a special talent for feeling his way into the psyche of both victims and perpetrators.
In his private life, Cross is a loving father who was never able to fall in love again after the death of his wife. Perhaps this trauma is also the reason why he throws himself obsessively into his work and sometimes goes over the top.
Series creator and showrunner Ben Watkin and his team were also able to get people like Isaiah Mustafa, Juanita Jennings, Alona Tal, Samantha Walkes, Caleb Elijah, Melody Hurd, Jennifer Wigmore, Eloise Mumford and Ryan Eggold on board for the cast of season 1.
When is the Cross series coming to Amazon?
The first season of Cross is due to go online on Amazon Prime Video this year, but does not yet have a specific start date. However, the series is already guaranteed a 2nd season, which was ordered in April 2024.
In any case, those responsible will not be short of material to adapt any time soon, as Patterson’s Alex Cross novel series comprises 32 titles. The most recent installment, Alex Cross Must Die, was published in 2023
