Ryan Reynolds is now in theaters with the fantasy film IF. Together with 1000 imaginary friends. And a sense of humor reminiscent of the best Deadpool scenes.
Ryan Reynolds is fun for the whole family. While Deadpool & Wolverine is more likely to appeal to teenage fans, his new movie IF: Imaginary Friends is aimed at a younger audience. However, that doesn’t stop the fantasy film from borrowing humor from Reynolds’ Marvel franchise in some scenes. Or to recycle a famous horror twist
Ryan Reynolds repeats one of the best Deadpool 2 scenes in the fantasy thriller IF
IF: Imaginary Friends centers on teenager Bea (Cailey Fleming), who lost her mother as a young girl. Now her father (John Krasinski) is facing a dicey heart operation that terrifies the teenager. In search of solace and distraction, she meets the mysterious Cal (Reynolds), who works as a kind of go-between for imaginary friends.

There is also an application scene like in Deadpool 2: The imaginary friends are questioned about their strengths and weaknesses so that they can be placed with people more easily.
Similar to the Marvel blockbuster, the most bizarre personalities also appear here, such as the bubble Bubble (original voice: Awkwafina), who bursts when nervous, or the irascible private detective Cosmo (Christopher Meloni). Caution, spoilers!
The movie finally comes up with a finale reminiscent of the horror twist in The Sixth Sense. It should not be revealed in detail here. In any case, the boundary between imaginary and real characters is somewhat different than it seems at the beginning of the film
