Maxton Hall meets Twilight: This is what the vampire series Love Sucks with Damian Hardung is all about
After winning the hearts of audiences as the arrogant and filthy rich James Beaufort in Amazon’s Maxton Hall, Damian Hardung becomes a vampire called Ben for his next series. Once again, it’s about a young love story between two people from different worlds.
At a fair, the sensitive vampire Ben meets the young boxer Zelda (Havana Joy Josephine Braun). There is an immediate attraction between the two. He hides the fact that he belongs to a family of cruel bloodsuckers. But he can’t keep the secret to himself for long, because Zelda is attacked by vampires at a party at Ben’s house. This further complicates the love between the two: Zelda learns that her family members have been vampire hunters for generations.
In addition to Damian Hardung and newcomer Havana Joy Josephine Braun, Love Sucks also stars Rick Okon, Stipe Erceg, Anne Ratte-Polle and Lisa-Marie Koroll. The series is written by Dark screenwriter Marc O. Seng. Andreas Prochaska (Alex Rider) and Lea Becker (Kitz) are responsible for the direction.
When does the series Love Sucks start?
There is no specific start date for Love Sucks yet. Initially, the vampire series will celebrate its premiere on July 1, 2024 at the Munich Film Festival. The series will then be shown on ZDFneo and in the ZDF Mediathek at a later date – probably in summer or fall 2024. Season 1 consists of eight 30-minute episodes.
