After vague but all the more frightening teasers, a first long trailer for Longlegs has now been released. The new horror thriller from Oz Perkins (The Devil’s Daughter) will feature Nicolas Cage as a disturbing serial killer. The current preview only shows a rudimentary glimpse of him, but this could still be the best horror film of the year. But see for yourself:

The plot is to revolve around young FBI agent Lee Harker (It Follows star Maika Monroe), who is on the hunt for a serial killer (Nicolas Cage). He is said to not only have several families on his conscience, but is also involved in occult practices.

As the new Longlegs trailer shows, the movie will also reveal a personal, possibly very traumatic connection between Cage’s killer and Monroe’s FBI agent. After the teasers, the longer preview also remains enigmatic, but the oppressive images and above all the haunting sound design are already getting incredibly under your skin
