Dexter is still one of the best series of all time. The psychological drama about the peculiar serial killer also has an average rating of 8.4/10 points from the Moviepilot community. So it’s no wonder that home channel Showtime wants to further expand the success of the Dexter universe. Last year, the channel announced three new Dexter series together with Paramount+ – including a prequel about the early days of the serial killer.
The series, entitled Dexter: Original Sin, is now finally picking up speed and has found its lead actor for the role of young Dexter
Shadow and Bone star Patrick Gibson becomes young Dexter for prequel series
As Deadline reports, Patrick Gibson will portray the young Dexter Morgan in the prequel series. Gibson is known for the fantasy series Shadow and Bone – Legends of Grisha, as well as the sci-fi series The OA. Both were shown on Netflix.

Christian Slater (True Romance) has been cast in the role of Dexter’s father Harry Morgan. Molly Brown (Senior Year) will play Dexter’s younger sister Debra Morgan.
Clyde Phillips (Dexter) will serve as showrunner for Dexter: Original Sin. The series will initially have 10 episodes. It has not yet been confirmed when the prequel will be released on Paramount+.
