As Claudia Jessie told the Late Night Show with Stephen Colbert, she broke her wrist one morning before filming began: “I’m an idiot, it was my fault.”

Cast and crew gathered at eight o’clock in the morning on the day of filming in high spirits. To get Friday off to a celebratory start, Claudia Jessie made a momentous decision: “To celebrate the good mood, I did a high kick, a celebratory high kick.”

Only Jessie was already wearing her costume, the petticoat of which restricted her freedom of movement more than the actress had expected: “When I lifted my leg, it was restricted by my hoop skirt and came right back. “

So Jessie swept herself off her feet, lost her balance and slowly fell to the floor, all the while making eye contact with co-star Hannah Dodd (Francesca Bridgerton), whose shock could be seen in her eyes with the expression “Oh no”.

Eventually Jessie landed on her wrist, which initially drew laughter from her co-stars. However, when the others present realized how serious the situation was, she was immediately treated by a set paramedic: “Luckily we have a paramedic on set for idiots like me.”

On the patient sheet, the case was titled “Patient took high kicks on set”, to which Jessie explained with amusement and indignation: “I only took one! It’s not like I was an unstoppable kicking machine that had to be stopped at all costs. “

Claudia Jessie was able to continue filming for Bridgerton season 3 despite injury – with one trick

Following her injury, Claudia Jessie had to wear a bandage around her wrist, which caused complications for the filming of Bridgerton season 3. However, the costume department was able to solve the problem with a trick.

In certain scenes, which took place on a summery day in the park, she wore a muff over her arms – a piece of clothing that you would normally put your hands in to keep them warm in winter. Which amused everyone on set: “We made the word up, of course, but we said: ‘It’s the summer muff, of course!”

The English word “muff” can be translated into German as “hand warmer”. At the end of the interview, the mischievous actress also plays with the meaning of the word, which can also be used colloquially for a vagina
