Amazon’s bitterly evil superhero series The Boys remains true to its reputation in season 4 and radically settles accounts with the USA: This is what the new image of Homelander shows
Amazon’s superhero series has amply demonstrated in its previous seasons that the powerful in The Boys are not unassailable. In June, Billy Butcher’s (Karl Urban) battle against Homelander’s (Antony Starr) “Supes” enters the new round. But the series is already back with a new Homelander image that apparently comments on the end of the court case against former US President Donald Trump
Ahead of season 4: The Boys draws a parallel between Homelander and Donald Trump
As a fictional series, The Boys has always liked to refer to the real current situation in the USA: capitalism, racism, misogyny and MeToo were perfect fodder for the bitter social satire and its bloody narrative twists. The series has already drawn many parallels between Homelander and Donald Trump in the past. Season 3 ended with the blonde leader of the Seven inciting his (far-right) supporters and killing a protester in front of witnesses. This raised the question of whether someone as untouchable as him could get away with murder.
In the New York court case against Donald Trump yesterday, the ex-president was found guilty on all 34 charges, including a cover-up of a hush money payment to porn actress Stormy Daniels, as Der Spiegel reported. It is the first time that a US president has been convicted under criminal law.
The sentence (prison or fine?) will not be announced by the judge until July, but the superhero series already had a comment ready. On their own X (formerly Twitter) account Vought International, The Boys commented:
BREAKING: Homelander has been found guilty… of being a great father!
Here’s a recent photo from the courthouse, where he was respectfully listening to closing arguments.
We wish the jury well as they deliberate and decide to keep him HomeFree! pic.twitter.com/Z35UYOpzAw

Homelander was found guilty … of being a great father. Here’s a photo from the courthouse where he respectfully listened to closing arguments. We wish the jury well as they deliberate and decide whether to allow him his freedom. Hashtag: HomeFree.
Under the headline “Homelander won’t testify because he’s too busy protecting America”, The Boys channel also ran the following headline after the verdict was announced in the Trump trial:
Closing arguments are complete in Homelander’s “trial,” and he has nothing further to say at this time. This has always been a WITCH HUNT, disguised as “justice.” He looks forward to his name being cleared and returning to more important tasks, like MAKING AMERICA SUPER AGAIN! pic.twitter.com/v7alBnIjYH

Everything has been said in the Homelander ‘trial’ and he has nothing further to add at this point in time. This was a WITCH HUNT masquerading as ‘justice’. He’s already looking forward to clearing his name and getting back to more important tasks: MAKING AMERICA GREAT AGAIN.
From Trump’s tweeting capitalization including quotation marks and word choice to the modified campaign slogan (“Make America Great Again”), the references in The Boys tweet are obvious. At the same time, the series reveals here for the first time ahead of season 4 that the evil Superman offshoot will actually be brought to justice after his public act of bloodshed, after this was already hinted at in the spin-off Gen V.
We will find out how his trial ends in season 4 at around the same time as Trump’s sentence is announced, as the 8th and final episode of the new season of The Boys will be released on Amazon on July 18, 2024
