The big-name cast list for Jurassic World 4 is filling up. Alongside Scarlett Johansson, another Hollywood star is now set to join the sci-fi sequel. However, this could cause problems for the MCU
The Jurassic Park franchise is far from over. After three films in the original trilogy awaited us in the 1990s and early 2000s, the Jurassic World series was born in the 2010s and is now being expanded with a fourth installment. Even though this is set in the same cosmos as its predecessors, the film is to be made separately from them. Neither the Jurassic Park stars around Sam Neill nor the Jurassic World stars around Chris Pratt are set to return for the sequel.
Instead, Universal is relying on new faces, led by none other than Scarlett Johansson. While the cast list for the sci-fi thriller has begun to fill up in recent weeks, another real Hollywood great is now said to be in talks for the film
Mahershala Ali is set to star alongside Scarlett Johansson in Jurassic World 4
As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, Mahershala Ali is set to star in Jurassic World 4. The actor made a name for himself with acclaimed works such as Moonlight and Green Book, for both of which he won the Oscar for Best Actor in a Leading Role.
In addition to Scarlett Johansson, the cast of the sci-fi sequel so far includes Bridgerton star Jonathan Bailey, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo (The Magnificent Seven) and Rupert Friend (Obi-Wan Kenobi). Deadline reports that Luna Blaise (Manifest) will also be seen in a key role in the film. Monkey Man star Dev Patel and Colman Domingo (Euphoria) were also recently rumored for the film. However, this has not yet been confirmed.
Whether Mahershala Ali will actually be seen in Jurassic World 4 also remains to be seen. The actor was actually signed up by the MCU for the upcoming Blade reboot, which is due to hit cinemas at the end of 2025. It is doubtful whether Ali will be able to reconcile both projects – if Blade is not postponed once again anyway. No script has yet been finalized for the superhero blockbuster. Jurassic World 4 is way ahead of it: the script for the dinosaur sequel was penned by Jurassic Park author David Koepp
