With the current Netflix success of Colors of Evil: Red, a sequel to the crime series is very likely. The stories of the sequels already exist
A Polish crime thriller currently dominates first place in Netflix’s German top 10 list of the most streamed films: Colors of Evil: Red. As the title of the dark tale already reveals, there are even more “evil colors” that the streaming service could explore. We introduce you to the other novel templates of the book adaptation
On Netflix’s Colors of Evil: Red can still be followed by black, white and yellow
What worked for Krzysztof Kieslowski’s French three-color trilogy (red, white and blue) could also work for Adrian Panek’s Netflix thriller. Poland may only have two shades in its red and white flag, but the Colors of Evil series of novels by Malgorzata Oliwia Sobczak takes a different tonal approach anyway. Originally conceived as a trilogy, there are now 4 books, all of which have prosecutor Leopold Bilski as the investigator in common:
Colors of Evil: Red is on Netflix
As in the original novel Czerwień (Red), for which there is no German or English translation, Netflix’s first part of the crime series also links two female murders: the ambitious public prosecutor Bilski (Jakub Gierszal) is tasked with investigating the case of a young corpse on the beach. During his research, he discovers similarities to another case from 15 years ago. Together with the victim’s mother, Judge Helena Bogucka (Maja Ostaszewska), he embarks on a dangerous investigation that leads them into the underworld of seaside nightclubs.
Colors of Evil: Black
The sequel Colors of Evil: Black (in the original: Czerń) only exists as a book so far, but could become the next Netflix sequel in the series: Bilski is demoted and sent to Kartuzy. At the same time, Ania Górska becomes an independent public prosecutor and is assigned her first case: the disappearance of a 13-year-old girl. The trail leads her to the same place as Bilski and the idyllic small town slowly reveals its macabre secret.

Colors of Evil: White
In the novel Colors of Evil: White (in Polish: Kolory zła – Biel), a law student jumps from the window of a rented house in the Baltic town of Sopot. However, her body also shows signs of being tied up and strangled. Bilski’s search for answers leads him first to the city’s nightclubs and then far back into the past.
Colors of Evil: Yellow
The fourth crime thriller, Żółć (Yellow), begins with a man with slashed veins who is found in his rented apartment. After the forensic investigation, however, it is clear that it was not suicide. Bilski finds out that the dead man apparently ran a “seduction school” and tortured women. A sculptor, an Instagram trainer, drugs and a car gang then come into play. But how is everything connected?
