Joe Kessler (Jeffrey Dean Morgan)
Daphne Campbell (Rosemarie DeWitt)
Colin (Elliot Knight)
Splinter (Rob Benedict)
Of course, there are many more new characters (and guest stars) to marvel at over the course of the 8 episodes of The season 4. We have limited ourselves here to the 7 most important new additions that you will see in the first episodes
The Boys season 4 cast: Nathan Mitchell plays Black Noir II
Moment, Black Noir?! Yes, you read that right. After the Seven member was killed by Homelander in the season 3 finale, Vought simply replaced the taciturn superhero. Behind the black mask is a whole new character. And it differs enormously from the original in one respect: Black Noir II is extraordinarily talkative.
However, a new actor has not been hired for Black Noir 2.0. The Supe is once again played by Nathan Mitchell, who finally gets to speak. Away from The Boys, Mitchell was seen as Kelvin in Supernatural and most recently played the character Zion Miller in the Netflix series Ginny & Georgia.
The Boys season 4 cast: Susan Heyward plays Sister Sage
The most important new addition to season 4 is probably Sister Sage, who is the first new member to join the Seven. Her superpowers include a superior intellect and a photographic memory. Sister Sage is nothing less than the smartest person on the planet.
Sister Sage becomes indispensable for Homelander. Not only because she is the only person who can speak her mind and stand up to him. With her thinking skills and foresight, she knows exactly how Homelander can strengthen his power.
Sister Sage is played by actress Susan Heyward. She is best known to series fans as prison guard Tamika Ward from the Netflix hit Orange Is the New Black – or as a cult follower from the thriller series The Following. She was most recently seen in the sci-fi series Hello Tomorrow! on Apple TV+.
The Boys season 4 cast: Valorie Curry plays Firecracker
The new Seven member Firecracker actually has a less spectacular superpower. With a snap of her fingers, she can produce a small bang, like a firecracker. Her true strength lies elsewhere: Firecracker is a real celebrity in the world of conspiracy theorists and the alt-right movement, who have gained countless followers with their video format Truthbomb. And superhero Starlight (Erin Moriarty) in particular has her on her radar.
The super-influencer is played by Valorie Curry, who, like her The Boys colleague Susan Heyward, also appeared in the cult series The Following. In it, she delivered a goosebump-inducing performance as the unpredictable follower of a serial killer. She made further series appearances in House of Lies, The Tick and Dan Brown’s The Lost Symbol
The Boys season 4 cast: Jeffrey Dean Morgan plays Joe Kessler
We’ve never seen him before season 4, but Joe Kessler and Billy Butcher have been through a lot together in the past. Now Butcher’s former war buddy and CIA contact comes back into his life to help him fight Homelander and get Ryan on their side.
It was only a matter of time before Jeffrey Dean Morgan also appeared in The Boys. After all, The Boys creator Eric Kripke is working hard to include numerous stars from his previous series Supernatural in the Amazon hit. Of course, main character John Winchester is not to be missed. However, Morgan’s most iconic role is and remains that of the perfidious villain and later anti-hero Negan from The Walking Dead universe.
The Boys season 4 cast: Rosemarie DeWitt plays Daphne Campbell
Hughie Campbell (Jack Quaid) is confronted with a personal tragedy in season 4 when his father (Simon Pegg) suffers a stroke. This eventually brings Hughie’s mother back into his life – and some traumatic memories. Daphne Campbell left her son at the age of six and has not seen him since. The fact that she also works for a sub-company of Vought brings additional potential for conflict into the tense relationship.
With almost 60 different film and series roles to her name, American actress Rosemarie DeWitt is one of the familiar faces who is new to The Boys season 4. Series fans have recently been able to discover her in The Staircase, Little Fires Everywhere and A Question of Chemistry, among others.
The Boys season 4 cast: Elliot Knight plays Colin
In the prelude to The Boys season 4, we meet Colin as a member of Starlight’s charity. Sparks fly immediately between him and Frenchie (Tomer Capon). But the blossoming romance between the two men is overshadowed by a terrible secret. Frenchie is responsible for the death of Colin’s family. Does their newfound happiness even stand a chance?
British-born Elliot Knight made his series debut as the title character in the adventure series Sinbad and gained wider recognition as the magician Merlin in the fantasy series Once Upon a Time… gained greater attention. He also played one of the leading roles in the mystery series American Gothic – alongside future Homelander star Antony Starr.
The Boys season 4 cast: Rob Benedict plays Splinter
The appearance of the Supes Splinter may only be short-lived, but it is particularly memorable. Firecracker’s best friend and assistant has the gift of being able to multiply. In terms of his sexual kink, this brings a The Boys moment that we won’t soon forget. However, Splinter’s weakness quickly becomes his downfall: when his original body (the Prime) dies, so do all the copies of him.
With Rob Benedict, another star from Eric Kripke’s fantasy horror hit Supernatural has made it into the cast of The Boys. But not just any star, but “God” himself. Away from Supernatural, Benedict has many smaller guest roles in series to his name. His most extensive appearance was in J.J. Abrams’ and Matt Reeves’ youth series Felicity as outspoken student Richard Coad.
