We’ve been waiting a long time for this movie, now we finally have the first trailer: The Paddington series continues with part 3 and turns into an exciting jungle adventure
Seven (!) years have passed since the world’s friendliest bear graced the big screen. So it’s high time for a new Paddington movie! Filming for part 3 of the popular fantasy series was completed last October. Now we have the first trailer for the sequel.
In Paddington in Peru, the fluffy title character and the Brown family are transported to the jungle of Peru, Paddington’s homeland. A visit to Aunt Lucy is on the agenda. But as it turns out in the trailer, there is no sign of her anywhere. What follows is an adventure through dreamlike landscapes
First trailer for Paddington 3: Indiana Jones meets Fitzcarraldo in the trailer for the fantasy adventure sequel
After the first two films were set against the backdrop of London, part 3 moves to a place we’ve only seen in flashbacks so far: Peru. Get ready for the Paddington version of an Indiana Jones adventure – including references to Werner Herzog’s masterpiece Fitzcarraldo, the classic musical My Songs, My Dreams and one of the ultimate adventure films of all time: African Queen.
One shot is even taken directly from Fitzcarraldo:

In the original, Ben Whishaw once again brings Paddington to life with his gentle voice. In the German dubbing, we can look forward to the return of Elyas M’Barek. Hugh Bonneville (Henry Brown), Madeleine Harris (Judy Brown), Samuel Joslin (Jonathan Brown), Julie Walters (Mrs. Bird) and Jim Broadbent (Samuel Gruber), who return from the previous films, can also be seen in front of the camera.
Paddington in Peru also features a big change in the cast: Emily Mortimer takes over the role of Mary Brown, previously played by Sally Hawkins. Also new on board are Antonio Banderas, who was actually seen in an Indiana Jones film last year, and Olivia Colman, who follows in the footsteps of Nicole Kidman (Part 1) and Hugh Grant (Part 2) as the villainess.
There was almost another star in Paddington in Peru: Rachel Zegler, known from Steven Spielberg’s West Side Story and the recent Hunger Games spin-off, was originally supposed to play Banderas’ character’s daughter. However, due to the actors’ strike in the USA, she was unable to take part in the filming. Newcomer Carla Tous then took over her role at short notice
