Netflix is gearing up for season 2 of its fantasy adventure hit One Piece and announces four more new additions for the new season of the series.
After the first season of the live-action series One Piece on Netflix won over numerous adventure fans last year, we can now look forward to a second season. While filming of the new episodes began this month, the first names that will complete the One Piece cast in the 2nd season reached us just a few days ago.
Netflix has now announced further new additions – including an absolute fan favorite from the manga series
Smoker actors and three more new additions confirmed for One Piece season 2 on Netflix
As the series announced on its official X account, Monarch star Callum Kerr will take on the role of Marine Captain Smoker. There had already been widespread speculation among fans about the casting of the iconic character. Smoker is considered a villainous fan favorite among connoisseurs of Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece manga and the popular anime series.

In addition, his appearance was already teased in the final seconds of season 1, in which the character could only be seen from behind, but could be clearly recognized by fans thanks to his uniform and the two unmistakable cigars.
Also confirmed are Julia Rehwald (Fear Street) in the role of Smoker’s Vice Admiral Tashigi, Rob Colletti (The Many Saints of Newark) as the tyrannical King Wapol and Ty Keogh (24 Hours To Live) as Garrison Chief Dalton.
When is One Piece season 2 coming to Netflix?
Since filming of the 2nd season of One Piece has only just begun in South Africa, the new episodes will be a while in coming. Production is scheduled to take around seven months and be completed in early 2025. We therefore do not expect the season to start on Netflix before summer 2025
