Mel Gibson is back with his first directorial effort in eight years. At the end of the trailer for Flight Risk, however, there’s only one thing you can think about: Mark Wahlberg’s gorgeous hair
It’s not the first time Mark Wahlberg has caused a stir with his facial hair, be it the moustache of his Uncharted character Sully or the enormous mane he proudly sports in Martin Scorsese’s masterpiece Departed. But we definitely weren’t expecting the Hollywood star’s latest look.
In Flight Risk, Wahlberg slips into the role of a pilot called Daryl, who turns out to be a contract killer. On board his plane is FBI agent Madolyn (Michelle Dockery), who is supposed to bring the informant Winston (Topher Grace) to New York so that he can testify against the criminal Moretti family

At an altitude of 3,000 meters, Daryl takes his big shot – and fails. Madoyln is able to overpower the killer, but is now faced with a completely different problem: who is going to load the plane safely? Madolyn has to rely on Daryl’s expertise. This is the nerve-wracking premise of Flight Risk, Mel Gibson’s new film.
It’s been eight years since Gibson has directed a movie on the big screen. In 2016, he even picked up an Oscar nomination for Best Director for Hacksaw Ridge. Now he’s back with a nasty little action thriller that looks like an icy version of Con Air.
Gibson and Wahlberg have already made two films together. Both Daddy’s Home 2 and Father Stu saw them in front of the camera. Flight Risk marks the first film in which Wahlberg acts under Gibson’s direction. Most recently, the ex-Transformers star led the adventure film Arthur the Great.
