The Acolyte hides the true villain of the Star Wars series: 3 clues reveal legendary Sith Lord

In The Acolyte episode 6, a nameless planet poses a mystery. It could point to a legendary Star Wars villain. Is the Sith Lord Darth Tenebrous coming soon?

The Acolyte provides new insights into the recently revealed Sith villain Qimir in episode 6, which you can stream on Disney+ since July 3, 2024. However, with two more episodes still to come, it’s reasonable to assume that the new Star Wars series has even more surprising twists in store. Is there possibly a secret second villain? In fact, there are already references to a Sith Lord called Darth Tenebrous.

Attention, possible spoilers for The Acolyte:

The Acolyte provides clues to the Sith villain Darth Tenebrous

Darth who? Anyone who has only ever watched the films and series from the Star Wars universe will probably never have heard the name Tenebrous. In the history of the Star Wars saga, this is a powerful Sith Lord. He is the master of the Sith Darth Plagueis, who in turn takes a certain Sheev Palpatine under his wing many years later.

But how are Tenebrous and The Acoylte connected? So far, there are three clues that are connected to the Sith Lord. Firstly, there is Qimir’s spaceship , which can be seen briefly in the background in the last two episodes. Its design is vaguely reminiscent of the Scimitar, Darth Maul’s ship. According to Star Wars lore, this model was designed by Tenebrous.

There is also another spaceship hidden in the trailer for The Acolyte that has not yet been seen in the six episodes so far. This could be flown by a previously unknown second villain:

The unnamed planet on which Qimir and Osha interact in episode 6 provides a somewhat clearer Tenebrous connection. Although it initially resembles the planet Ahch-To known from the sequel trilogy, fans are already speculating that it is actually the planet Bal’demnic based on information from the fansite Wookiepedia:

The planet Bal’demnic is only known from non-canon Legends books (formerly Expanded Universe). The description of the coastal surface and the mention of valuable cortosis deposits match strikingly with what we saw in episode 6.

And what does Bal’demnic have to do with Darth Tenebrous? In the novel Darth Plagueis, this planet plays an important role. It is the place where the Sith Master is murdered in the back by his apprentice
