In addition to Sailor Moon and Dragon Ball, the anime series A Super Trio aka Cat’s Eye was also shown on TV back in the day. A live-action version is now coming from France via Amazon, for which there is already a trailer

If you enjoyed watching Sailor Moon or Dragon Ball on RTL 2 in the 90s, you will certainly remember A Super Trio. The anime series, which is actually called Cat’s Eye, is based on the manga by Tsukasa Hojo and tells the story of three sisters with a café who lead a double life as art thieves, while one of them is engaged to a cop.

After live-action series such as One Piece or Yu Yu Hakusho, there will now be a Cat’s Eye real series. Not in Japanese or English, however, and not on Netflix, but from France and on Amazon Prime Video.

Cat’s Eyes on Amazon: The French adaptation of the cult anime

According to Anime News Network, Cat’s Eyes is not about the Japanese Kisugi sisters, but the French Chamade sisters: Alexia (Claire Romain), Tamara (Camille Lou) and Sylvia (Constance Labbé). Hoping to find out what happened to their missing father ten years ago, they make plans to steal one of his artworks, which suddenly turns up in an exhibition at the Eiffel Tower in Paris.

Inspector Quentin Chapuis (Mohamed Belkhir) from the French police is soon on the trio’s tail. But the investigator has no idea that one of the three wanted men is the love of his life. Can Tam keep up the thieving double life with her sisters?

A Japanese Cat’s Eye movie was released back in 1997. A live-action adaptation of the City Hunter theme, which was also written by manga author Hojo, was released in 2018 under the title Nicky Larson: City Hunter … and also comes from France.
