Joker 2 trailer brings back extremely tragic character from The Dark Knight – facing a terrible fate

The new trailer for Joker 2 features a surprising revelation. However, many fans may not have noticed it. That’s why we’re taking another close look at the DC preview

Joker: Folie à deux is the next promising DC film to hit the big screen. However, we can’t expect a classic sequel: based on the latest trailer, we find ourselves in a nightmarish musical madness as the titular villain meets Harley Quinn.

Dr. Harleen Quinzel, played by Lady Gaga, is not the only familiar character from the Batman comics to drop by in Joker: Folie à deux. The new trailer reveals the appearance of another tragic villain who we last saw in a live-action context in The Dark Knight: Harvey Dent aka Two-Face.

Joker 2 trailer surprises with Harvey Dent: Will the lawyer also transform into the villain Two-Face?

Moment, Harvey Dent? He wasn’t even in the trailer! That’s right, but he was definitely audible, as the subtitles of the video reveal. “They think Arthur Fleck is some kind of … Martyr. But he’s not. He’s a monster.” This sentence is attributed to none other than Harvey Dent.

Here you can watch the new trailer for Joker 2:

Dent was played by Aaron Eckhart in 2008’s The Dark Knight and turned out to be one of the film’s most tragic characters. We get to know him as an aspiring lawyer who believes he can transform crime-infested Gotham City into a better place. But then everything turns out very differently.

Although Dent is introduced as a shining beacon of hope, whose idealism defies Gotham’s bold characters, several setbacks and a bitter experience of loss cause the white knight to break from his pain and – with a little help from the Joker – turn into the villain Two-Face.

Like Joker: Folie à deux adapts the Harvey Dent story is as yet unclear. Even the actor behind the words in the trailer is not yet known. Slashfilm speculates that Harry Lawtey, known from The Curious Case of Mr. Poe, could take over the part in the DC sequel due to his matching appearance
