Season 5 of Stranger Things suffered massively from the double strike in Hollywood, which paralyzed almost the entire industry in 2023. Production of the new episodes could therefore only begin on January 8, 2024. As the final eight episodes are each set to be roughly as long as eight feature films, filming will also take a correspondingly long time. Filming is scheduled to continue until the end of 2024.
After that, extensive post-production is expected, meaning that we can only expect the 5th season of Stranger Things on Netflix in the course of 2025. Since the youthful cast around Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard and co. are aging faster than their characters, the Duffer brothers around Matt and Ross Duffer decided to set the 5th Stranger Things season after a time jump. The first images shared from the set of co-creator Ross Duffer gave a telltale hint.
One image shows a possible date – Tuesday, November 11. Since November 11 only fell on a Tuesday in 1989 in the 1980s, many assume that the plot is set in that year. Accordingly, the teased time jump would span around 3.5 years

The first episode of the new season will be titled “Chapter One: The Crawl”, according to an X-Post from the writers. The first scene of the first episode may begin with a flashback of Will Byers being in the Upside Down.

Season 5 is not the end for Stranger Things
Even though the main series will end with season 5, the Stranger Things universe is set to continue in a spin-off. The Duffer brothers have already teased this as “unexpected” and “different”. However, further details and a possible start on Netflix have not yet been confirmed. An animated series is also being planned.
